   You can try adhoc connection you normally use for windows to windows connection. OR you can use command prompt with admini priviledge in windows 7 and 8 (windows 8 remove adhoc connection). netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid=”name” and enter. netsh wlan start hostednetwork and enter. You can now use wifi for file transfer. It is okay to me with web server enabled application.
